Uber has removed its self-driving cars from the streets of San Francisco. Authorities threatened legal action if Uber didn't get special permits for the cars. Uber’s experiment lasted just one week, in its home town of San Francisco. The authorities said the cars required permits, which Uber did not obtain. But Uber said its cars didn’t need permits as a driver and technician were in the car in case of any issues, but the Department of Motor Vehicles insisted on the permits.
