Borneo could soon be home to Indonesia's new capital city.

The country's president has formally proposed to parliament to move the capital from Jakarta.

Joko Widodo made the proposal as part of his state of the union speech on Friday.

If the motion is approved, the capital will be located in Kalimantan on the island of Borneo.
