A report that criticizes the state of air pollution in the UAE has been rejected by a leading environment agency. Recent findings by the World Bank in its Little Green Data Book identified the UAE as the “country with the most polluted air” However, the environment agency Bee’ah has released a statement asserting that “the UAE is making remarkable progress towards environment leadership.” It also adds that air quality is one of the leading priorities under the UAE’s National Agenda, because it is associated directly with human health, the environment and its impact on the economy.
