Bilateral ties in focus as UAE, Pakistan presidents meet

UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has held talks in Abu Dhabi with Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari, on strengthening bilateral relations, with a focus on the economy, trade and investment.

Sheikh Mohamed welcomed Zardari during a meeting at Qasr Al Bahr, praising his commitment to advancing UAE–Pakistan ties, which continue to see steady growth.

The two leaders reviewed progress on negotiations for a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), expressing hope that it will mark a major step forward in boosting economic cooperation.

They also discussed key regional and international developments, stressing the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in supporting peace and stability.

Sheikh Mohamed noted that Pakistan’s current seat on the UN Security Council offers new opportunities for cooperation between the two nations in support of global security.

Zardari reaffirmed the strength of UAE–Pakistan relations and highlighted Pakistan’s keenness to expand economic partnerships that benefit both countries.
