Private schools in Dubai have been told to cancel field trips or gatherings in an effort to contain the spread of COVID-19.
The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) issued a circular that called on educational institutions in the emirate to cease such activities until further notice.
"All internal and external trips should be halted, any scheduled competitions, festivities and gatherings inside educational institutions, especially those that require student gatherings should be halted with immediate effect," it read.
"With this communication, all pre-planned trips and related approvals issued by the KHDA became invalid."

It comes after school students were told to declare their travel history over the last 28 days.
