A tax office worker in Dubai has been accused of stealing tens of thousands of dirhams worth of tax refunds.
The man allegedly embezzled close to AED 70,000 of VAT refunds that were supposed to be given back to tourists leaving the city.
The 34-year-old's role was to oversee and approve refund applications.
However, he ended up inserting his own credit card details to pocket the tax rebates.
