A 700-metre stretch of Sheikh Zayed Road near the Umm Al Sheif Street exit in Dubai has been widened to ease traffic flow.
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) says the upgrade expands the lanes from six to seven, boosting capacity by 16 per cent to accommodate up to 14,000 vehicles per hour.
The project targets a known congestion hotspot for vehicles coming from Abu Dhabi and is expected to reduce travel time and improve safety.
Sheikh Zayed Road is one of Dubai’s busiest and most vital routes, connecting major commercial, residential and financial hubs.
