As many as 672 prisoners in Dubai have been pardoned ahead of the UAE's 50th National Day.
Their release was ordered by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The humanitarian gesture is aimed at giving them an opportunity to start a new life and reintegrate into society.
Dubai Public Prosecution has started coordinating with Dubai Police to implement the directive.
