The pilot shortage and outdated methods of training pilots has been in focus on day four of the Dubai Airshow. It’s believed 60,000 new pilots will be needed over the next 20 years. A discussion on the sidelines of the event addressed demand as well as the key barriers deterring high school graduates to take up a career as a pilot. While he’s not describing it as a crisis, Alan Peaford, Editor in Chief of Arabian Aerospace magazine agrees the industry is at a tipping point.
