UAE condemns Iranian drone attack on Oman's Salalah Port

WAM

The UAE has expressed its strong condemnation of the unprovoked Iranian drone attack targeting the Port of Salalah in Oman, which resulted in damage to several fuel tanks at the location.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) affirmed that this attack represents a dangerous escalation and a violation of the principles of international law.

The ministry also reaffirmed the UAE's full solidarity with Oman and its support for all measures aimed at safeguarding its security, the safety of its citizens and residents, and preserving its stability.

Meanwhile, Oman's local state agency noted that its environment authority is closely monitoring the situation, with Salalah's air quality levels remaining within safe limits.

It also advised residents near the incident to "wear masks, keep windows closed, and relocate patients experiencing respiratory difficulties to suitable areas as a precautionary measure".
