The UAE and Greece have held a second round of political consultations in Athens, with renewed calls to keep the Strait of Hormuz open in accordance with international laws.

During the talks, both sides underscored the importance of diplomacy and dialogue to avoid further escalation regionally and globally.

Lana Nusseibeh, Minister of State, led the UAE delegation while Alexandra Papadopoulou, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, led the Greek delegation.

Both sides also underscored the need to expand cooperation between UAE and Greece across key areas, including political, economic and strategic fields.

They also exchanged views on ways to enhance cooperation at the European level, with Greece offering support as the UAE and EU work towards a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).

Both sides explored ways to continue close cooperation in the multilateral arena, including at the UN.
