UAE issues warning on publishing videos that harm national security

WAM

The UAE's Public Prosecution is urging the public not to publish or share videos that could harm national security.

It comes as the authority summoned several individuals who circulated a video on social media that showed defence forces intercepting the Houthi militia's attempts to target vital facilities in the country.

Attorney-General Dr. Hamad Saif Al Shamsi said that the authorities have adopted a transparent approach to releasing facts and information.

He also pointed out the risks of spreading rumours and how it could create panic.

The official emphasised that the Public Prosecution will take appropriate legal action against related crimes to protect the nation’s interests, public order and security.
