UAE launches drive to prepare 10 million meals for Gaza

The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) has launched a community drive to support the preparation of the Mohammed bin Rashid Humanitarian Ship.

The shipment, organised in cooperation with the UAE’s Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, will carry more than 10 million meals to help meet the urgent needs of displaced families in Gaza.

MBRGI is inviting volunteers to help prepare the meals at an event on December 7 at the Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo City. Registration is open at MBRship.ae.

Minister of Cabinet Affairs and MBRGI's Secretary-General Mohammed Al Gergawi said the initiative reflects the UAE’s generosity and its commitment to easing suffering in Gaza.

He added that the UAE community continues to stand united in supporting the Palestinian people.

The humanitarian ship builds on MBRGI’s pledge earlier this year to provide AED 43 million in direct food aid to one million people in Gaza.

In 2023, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, directed MBRGI to provide AED 50 million in urgent aid to the Palestinian people.

Separately, Dubai Humanitarian delivered an urgent relief shipment to the Gaza Strip via Egypt's El Arish port in September 2024, comprising 71.6 tonnes of essential medical supplies.
