Part of the shelters are air-conditioned, while the rest is shaded and provides space for branding.
There are informational screens displaying bus network, timetable, service frequency and other information needed by passengers.

Dubai's RTA has also provided spaces for parking bikes as well as ticket vending machines.
The design of the new bus shelters takes the needs of People of Determination into account with wheelchair access and facilities for visually challenged individuals.
The shelters are near Satwa Roundabout, at Burj Khalifa Boulevard, and there are two on Al Mustaqbal Street.
1550 shelters are in the pipeline over the next three to four years.
