Williams through to French Open second round

Serena Williams is through to the second round of the French Open.

The American was far from her best as she came from behind to beat Russian world number 83 Vitalia Diatchenko.

The 37-year-old will now take on Kurumi Nara or Slovenian Dalila Jakupovic in the second round.

Meanwhile, Caroline Wozniacki crashed out in the first round after losing to Veronika Kudermetova.
