Yemen's Saudi-led coalition has announced on Thursday the interception and destruction of two Houthi drones targeting Saudi Arabia.
In a statement shared by the Saudi Press Agency, the coalition said it intercepted one UAV in Khamis Mushait and later shared that another was destroyed in Saudi Arabia's southern region.
In a press conference on Thursday, the official spokesperson for the coalition, Major General Turki Al-Malki, also strongly condemned the Houthis' previous attacks on civilian airports and facilities, stating it constitutes a flagrant violation.
Al-Malki added that the targeting of Makkah and Madinah is part of a systematic hostile approach that threatens the security of visitors to the Two Holy Mosques and the safety of pilgrims.
He underscored the need to take all necessary measures to protect the security of the Kingdom and its holy sites, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
He also said the coalition's Joint Forces Command dismantled a network of mountain storage facilities built by the militia in Sanaa, Saada, and Amran, used to launch attacks on Yemen and neighboring countries, along with the destruction of several missile launch platforms.
The Joint Forces Command continues to take the necessary measures to counter Houthi threats and dismantle the group's offensive capabilities, he added.
