Dubai's Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism) shut down five venues and fined 15 others over a one-week period for violating COVID-19 safety regulations.

The authority took action against the venues from January 16-23 for not complying with the precautionary measures aimed at limiting the spread of COVID-19.

Inspections have been stepped up to ensure rules and regulations are being followed.
