H.H. Sheikh Mohammed renames Ministerial Development Council

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has renamed Ministerial Development Council as Ministerial Council for Artificial Intelligence and Development.

His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, will chair the council.

The decision reflects the UAE’s direction to place artificial intelligence at the heart of government work and policy development, aiming to shift 50 per cent of government work sectors, services and operation to adopt AI systems for more autonomous decision-making within two years.

The key functions of the Council will include driving the shift toward adopting Agentic- Al for autonomous execution and decision-making across federal government work. It will also look at advancing the efficiency of implementing government policies, legislation, strategies, plans and services through advanced AI.

The Council will also review policies, legislation and strategies submitted by ministries and federal entities and submit recommendations to the Cabinet.

In addition, the Council will evaluate solutions to enhance service quality and improve the experience of all community members, especially in key sectors such as healthcare, education, housing, infrastructure, transport, energy and telecommunications, ensuring faster, more efficient and AI-enabled services.
