The UAE's National Media Authority has taken legal action against two individuals for violating media regulations and content standards.

The authority said the breaches involved a live social media broadcast that failed to respect the UAE’s cultural heritage, national identity and community values.

It has also suspended one individual’s publishing permit for three months.

The authority stressed that it will take firm action against the misuse of digital platforms to share content that undermines societal values or seeks attention by creating controversy.
