UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has been awarded Albania’s highest state honour, the Grand Star of the Supreme Order of the Eagle, in recognition of his role in strengthening UAE-Albania ties.
The honour was presented during a meeting in Abu Dhabi by Albanian President Bajram Begaj, who is on a working visit to the UAE.
The two leaders discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral relations, with a focus on trade, the economy, renewable energy, technology and infrastructure.
They also discussed cooperation on sustainability and water security, including preparations for the 2026 UN Water Conference, which the UAE will host in December.
The leaders exchanged views on regional and international issues, stressing the importance of strengthening peace, security and stability.
Sheikh Mohamed thanked President Begaj for the honour and reaffirmed his commitment to building on the progress in UAE-Albania relations for the benefit of both countries and their peoples.
